    "Our Musicians Obey Creative Peaks"
Young, talented, dedicated 100% of classical music Dimcho Velichkov will record in his biography the conquest of another creative peak because the works of Rachmaninov are in the repertoire of the greatest musicians. For one of his brightest piano pieces - Rhapsody on a Paganini theme, Rahmaninov chooses the 24th whims of solo violin by Italian virtuoso Nicolo Paganini. Established in the distant 1934, Rhapsody became extremely popular and entered the repertoire of the great pianists, but it does not sound often on the Pleven scene. But here she met with the pianist Dimcho Velichkov, a 31-year-old musician with a rich professional biography who has many awards from national and international competitions, festivals in Bulgaria and abroad, concerts in the country, Italy, France, Austria, Russia, Canada, the Republic of Korea, Slovakia. During his debut performance in Pleven, he impressed the audience with his enviable technical capabilities, the rich sound palette characteristic of Rahmaninov's style and the courage to recreate this work.”

Among the participants - open 47 International Festival "Sofia Music Weeks" is a recital of Dimcho Velichkov on June 17 in Hall 9 of the National Palace of Culture. Pianist presented an extremely difficult program. From the very first etude  op.2, №1 of Al.  Scrjabin he impressed us with a   very strong and convincing  performance .
Dimcho Velichkov has  no technical problems with the intricate texture of the writings not only with  Scrjabin, but Liszt, Mussorgsky, Alexander Vladigerov and Vesselin Stoyanov included in the program.
In the emblematic work of Mussorgsky "Pictures at an Exhibition" Dimcho Velichkov  “painted” each of the pictures with the brightest and finest nuances of sound palette.

Dimcho Velichkov represents a new generation pianists. His technique as a musician does not end in itself but  it is also a basic device for the construction of musical-shaped architecture, visual suggestions and philosophical adjustments  of the composers.

In the Ballade № 2 by Chopin and in “Nocturne” № 2 his left hand seems to cover with sheer all the images that were born from the music and strengthens  the romantic character of the compositions.

Velichkov is able to achieve harmonious expressiveness with the music of Alexander Skrjabin and his Etudes (№ 1, № 3, № 7, № 12). Here we also see complexity of images, abstract structures, but again directed towards their harmonic implication within the whole stream of music.

Variations of the song by Krasimir Kurkchijski  “ Polegnala e Tudora” sounded with the authentic Bulgarian melodic expression. In the ritual dream of the protagonist the melody moves in other dimensions with the death and resurrection of one Orpheus formula.

The piano cycle “Pictures at the Exhibition” by Modest Mussorgsky has also its own magic. Probably it was modified and occurred during the period when Mussorgsky participated in the study circle “ The Great Five” in the XX century in Russia. The philosophical idea of the cycle was skillfully expressed  by Velichkov. The echo of the hall, this time, was transformed in suitable resonance space, which strengthened the impression and the influence of the musical images depicted in the author’s philosophical point of view about the powerful birth of the matter. And all that is achieved with impressive skills by the pianist Dimcho Velichkov.

SELF-CONTROLLED CONTAMINATION

With the first sounds from the music from the genius masterpiece by Mussorgsky Dimcho Velichkov succeeds in involving the listeners into his magical space full of images and pictures by Hartman. For each play he finds his unique colour with the corresponding timbre and gradually leads to the culminations of all cycles.

Dimcho Velichkov is able to feel the music and with his  performance he carries to the listener different images from the play. His sound is full of vividness and timbre. The Bulgarian pianist sensitively listens to the intonation of the musical aspects of the tissue. His pianistic equipment gives him the opportunity to perform with an easiness plays from every composer with no matter of the level of the difficulty. Moreover one of the most important advantage is the ability to understand and perform clearly the musical teks, which is a sign of a good learner. We must add that the big temperament  on the stage which is valid nowadays the performer is focused and self-contamination.
